We had been a little spoiled the last couple years with rather mild winter temps and not much snow. This season was decidedly different with lots of cold AND lots of snow.
Now that it's over (most hope), was it really that bad? Sure there were school cancellations and empty bread shelves at the grocery store, but are we really any worse for the wear?
We survived! Great people worked to clear roads, staff emergency vehicles, and reconnect downed power lines. We made a lot of soup and spent more time with our families.
The very best thing to come from it though may be a heightened appreciation for the next season that we haven't felt in years.
